ANALYSIS OF RAW MATERIAL PROCUREMENT DELAYS TO IMPROVE IMPORT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES OF PT. CLARIANT INDONESIA

This research was conducted at PT. Clariant Indonesia aims to analyze the lateness of
the raw material procurement process and solutions to improve the company’s performance.
Sources of data in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained
through field research, and secondary data was obtained from literature searches. Quantitative
methods are measured on a sample drawn from secondary agricultural data and by a graphical
rating scale method of import performance. The result showed that the average performance
was 89.5%, below the 95% target. The delay in the import process comes from two sources:
internal companies, such as the assigned freight forwarder and Clariant’s import department
capacity, and external companies, such as foreign suppliers, customs systems, and traffic
situations. Improvements were made by increasing the number of staff, the number of training
hours, and expanding the supplier base.
