<note>Railway accidents, especially in the emplacement at Manggarai Station, that frequently occur are train
derailments. It is identified that the derailments are caused by the damage of railroad switch componentsin the emplacement
at Manggarai Station. The occurrence of train derailment can cause: the damage of railway infrastructures; the damage of
railway facilities; delayed train arrival; queueing trains to enter the station; crowds of passengers at the station; disruption
of train travel activities (shunter, catching-up, and crossing); train travel cancelation resulting in economic loss. The aim
of this research is to know the causes of derailment, how far the implementation of operational safety management on the
switch and the efforts made to overcome the derailment on the emplacement switch at Manggarai Station. The research is
carried out using a qualitative approach on the switch identified as prone to train derailment. From the research findings it
is expected that the concerned parties can understand the procedures for solving the problems of train travel, so that all the
disruptions on the train travel can be overcome</note>
