PROCESS OF AIR SIDE SAFETY SUPERVISION OF THE APRON MOVEMENT CONTROL UNIT AT HUSEIN SASTRANEGARA AIRPORT IN BANDUNG

Husein Sastranegara Airport is an international airport area located on
Jl. Padjadjaran No.156, Husein Sastranegara Village, Cicendo District,
Bandung, West Java. Inside the airport there are areas that are not open
to the public or the general public, namely the air side. The air side is
where the aircraft operates, one of the most vital parts of the airport.
Husein Sastranegara Airport does not have a garbarata because it only
has 8 parking stands. In serving flight movement activities, a supervisory
role is needed from the Apron Movement Control (AMC) unit. AMC is
expected to carry out its responsibilities by referring to the established
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
AMC officers must carry out work actions in accordance with the SOP
in managing, supervising, and controlling aircraft movements, vehicle
movements, Ground Support Equipment (GSE) movements and all
activities covering the apron area. This aims to create a safe and
comfortable service. If there is a lack of supervision from the AMC
unit, it will have an impact on safety on the air side. Therefore AMC
officers are required to remain thorough and alert to movements in the
apron area.
