<note>The purposes of this study are: (1) To determine the level of service of a terminal case study, KOJA container terminal, experiencing a substantial increase in ship arrivals, (2) To analyze the losses to ships and goods while waiting in queues, and (3) To define the improvement in ship services through the use of additional dock port units. Data used in this study was obtained from KOJA container terminal. The data spanned from January to December 2019 and was analyzed in this study using the M/M/S queuing model. The results showed that the average ship arrival rate was 1.3 per day with a waiting time of 1.21 days. The highest daily rate of ship arrival was 1.7 at which the waiting time was 9.17 days. At a daily ship arrival rate of 1.3, the cost of losses to ship and goods due to queuing was Rp 486,654,212,228. At the highest daily rate of ship arrival of 1.7, the highest cost of losses was Rp. 3,685,490,352,790. The study recommends that KOJA container terminal should increase the number of dock units from 2 to 3 units to decrease the waiting cost for ships and goods.</note>
