<note>Abstract

The behavior of drivers who exceed speed is one of the causes of traffic conflicts and road accidents in Jakarta. This study aims to determine the psychological factors that can influence the speed limit compliance behavior of drivers in the School Safe Zone. The self-reported questionnaire was designed by applying the Theory of Planned Behavior construct for data collection. Two hundred and nineteen valid responses were received from the questionnaire survey conducted in East Jakarta. The data are then analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results of the analysis show that attitude is the strongest predictor of self-reported speed limit compliance behavior and spirituality moderates the prediction of attitude, subjective norms, behavior control on speed limit compliance behavior of drivers in the School Safe Zone. Furthermore, attitudes, subjective norms, behavioral control, and spirituality were found to have a significant correlation with speed limit compliance behavior in the School Safe Zone. The results of this study can be used as a reference for designing further effective interventions to improve the speed limit compliance behavior of the Safe School Zone.
