THE FORMULATION STRATEGY OF INDONESIAN AIRPORT IN FACING COVID-19 A CASE STUDY: WEST JAVA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Coronavirus disease, better known as COVID-19, has a very big impact on the aviation industry throughout the world. The purposes of this scientific paper are to review the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on airports and to review the strategy of airports in Indonesia during the pandemic. This research is focused on the West Java International Airport (BIJB). The research method used was descriptive qualitative by using SWOT analysis where the data were in the form of primary data, taken from interviews with President Director of BIJB, and secondary data, obtained from BIJB managers and literature studies such as through articles, journals, websites, and documents related to this research problem. This research is one of the pioneers that investigate the impact of COVID-19 on Indonesian airports. It can be concluded that this pandemic has made Indonesian airports experience difficult times due to restrictions on activities in order to prevent transmissions. Therefore, those airports must prepare some strategies, both long-term and short-term, in order to survive the current conditions.
